a gong at the Elle Style Awards.

in Danny Boyle’s
rags-to-riches tale,
won the best actress award.
The accolade comes hot on
the heels of the film’s seven Baftas.
Hollywood hellraiser Mickey Rourke
also added to his Bafta success by picking
up the best actor award for his big-screen
comeback in The Wrestler.

Former Hole singer Courtney Love
was named Woman of the Year,
while Sienna Miller flew the flag for Britain,
taking the Elle Style Icon gong in
recognition of her “unique, fashion forward style”.
In the TV categories,
Alexa Chung was crowned best star
and Gavin And Stacey best series.
Following the success of their album
Only By The Night, the Kings of Leon
accepted their award for best music
by video link.
The glamorous awards ceremony
was held last night at London’s
Big Sky venue.
